Audio Department Manager – Now Hiring

The Audio Department Mgr supports successful staging, delivery and removal of equipment for live events and reports to the President

The Audio Dept Mgr is responsible for but not limited to:

  1. Accurate completion of all pull sheets listing all equipment necessary for each event
  2. Audio department inventory control and maintenance
  3. Coordination with Operations Manager to ensure proper warehouse staffing
  4. Verification and approval of employee timesheets and vendor invoices
  5. Verification of timesheets and show hours
  6. Daily operations including time and task management of the audio department
  7. Provide direction to the sales staff when necessary and provide support to all departmental employees
  8. Training, coaching, and discipline of all audio department employees
  9. Pay scale responsibility for all 1099 skilled technicians

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to execute a predesigned setup and adjust according to real-world situations
  • Assist sales staff and project manager with sound sub-rentals
  • Manage department inventory to include ordering replacement parts and accessories
  • Develop informed purchasing strategies pertaining to equipment and materials
  • Budget and labor management
  • Tier 1 support for all technical queries
  • Develop and implement SOP’s to include OTC and prep/de-prep procedures
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards
  • Effective written and verbal communication to provide direction to setup crews and coordinate with other specialties
  • Works with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and attendees
  • Experience prepping equipment in shop setting – Plus
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must be over 18
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • When necessary, be willing to play a role as an audio engineer on show site

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in the full line of L-Acoustics products, current and legacy
  • Familiar with all Shure products, wired and wireless
  • Experience with Clearcom products
  • Knowledge of Digico, Yamaha, Avid, Midas – Console lines
  • Confident in system time alignment, power metering, moderate cable repair, truck loading, and other basic show responsibilities
